Bridgeport, CTJob Description Full time Staff Hospitalist Full-time positions available for Staff Hospitalist. Medical center is a licensed 397 bed teaching hospital in SW Connecticut with an average daily census of 275. The Hospitalists program is covered by house staff, and a key element in care provision and teaching at the hospital. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, skilled at acute care management/proceudre, experienced in patient care, able to work nights and weekends on-call, and have a solid understanding of Hospitalist roles. Must have a Connecticut license. Competitive salary and benefits package. FACILITY Serving Southwestern Connecticut and Westchester County, New York, St. Vincent's Medical Center is a modern, 397-bed acute care hospital offering more than 50 specialty and subspecialty medical and surgical disciplines. Centers of excellence comprise cardiovascular disease including angioplasty and coronary artery bypass surgery; cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and support; joint replacement including total knee, hip and shoulder; women's services including a contemporary maternity center with a neonatal special care unit; senior services including wellness programs; and a full range of behavioral health services. With one of the largest angioplasty programs in New England, St. Vincent's implemented in 1995 a PAMI (primary angioplasty for myocardial infarction) program that assures the availability of emergency angioplasty within one hour, 24-hours a day. St. Vincent's also is a designated Level II Trauma Center and has a landing pad for medical helicopters. Affilated with two medical schools ? Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York Medical College ? St. Vincent's participates in international research programs.
