FACILITY
In June 1953, a twister ripped through northeast Michigan, forcing the just-built Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, Michigan, into service a couple weeks ahead of schedule.
That hospital eventually grew into a health system, with several outlying clinics and services that reach out to the surrounding communities.
As a system, the St. Joseph family is committed to quality health care and preventive education with a mission to heal the sick and serve the needs of their patients ... physically, mentally and spiritually.
Emphasis is placed on teamwork, corporate values and a combination of high technology mixed with the human touch.
The medical community associated with the St. Joseph family is one of the finest in northeastern Michigan.
Primary care and specialty services are readily available. Continual expansion of outreach efforts of hospital sponsored clinics and ambulatory care centers as well as partnering with other providers positions the St. Joseph Health System at the forefront of health care delivery.
Partnering efforts include the construction of the Oscoda Health Park, a $4-million health center, with Saint Mary's of Saginaw, as well as the construction of AuSable Valley Health Center in Fairview in cooperation with Community Caring, a nonprofit organization devoted to senior living.
