Temporary pediatrician is to work 8am - 4:30pm at the clinic, Monday through Friday, or work the 4x10 hr option. In either case, 40 hours per week minimum is guaranteed. Call is imperative in this position. Call is 1:4 with mandatory weekend coverage. Outpatient clinic, nursery coverage as well as inpatients.
The Pediatrics call consists of carrying the pager, responding to c-section and high risk deliveries, admitting patients seen by our ER staff and occasionally assisting our ER physicians with a difficult pediatric case. Also, if the pediatrician takes weekend call, the doctor will round on hospitalized patients and newborns. The ER staff consists of at least one physician and one midlevel. Occasionally they will have two ER physicians working. They will initially see the patient and call the pediatrician for admission if needed.
We provide competitive remuneration, furnished housing with all utilities, weekly pay every Friday, and paid medical malpractice insurance. The housing is about one mile from the hospital. |
