Job Description
Our hospital is actively embarked on an aggressive growth plan. Our Framework for Growth included several phases. Phase I, the Medical Park, has been in place since 1999. Phase II, featuring a new Emergency Center, was recently completed. Phase III, featuring a new physician office building, is scheduled for completion in 2005. In Phase IV, Hospital leaders have proposed to substantially expand and update our surgical services, and also to expand obstetric services.
The obstetric services will bring us up to a Level II and will feature a state of the art neonatal unit. The surgical services will bring 4 extra suites, each measuring 600 sq. ft., robotic capabilities, ceiling mounted equipment and direct interface with radiology.
Lima Memorial Hospital is a 300 bed general acute hospital providing a full spectrum of medical services for a ten county region, approximately 500,000 people. The medical staff is competent, well respected by peers and community and well supported by the hospital administration.
Our open heart surgery suites, cardiovascular intensive care and step down units are housed on the same floor providing a unique single-floor concept for safety and convenience. Affiliated with Lima Memorial Hospital is the Vascular Institute of Northwest Ohio.
The Medical Park is meticulously designed to incorporate a relaxing environment with state of the art technology. This outpatient facility encompasses the Cancer Institute, the Women's Health Center, the Diagnostics and Imaging Center and an Outpatient Laboratory.
Lima is located in northwest central Ohio, on Interstate 75, 10 miles south of the junction of U.S. Route 30. Lima is the largest inland city in northwest central Ohio, within 250 miles of the 10 largest cities in the central states. Lima sits midway between Detroit, Cincinnati, Toledo, Dayton, Indianapolis, Columbus and Ft. Wayne. Located in the mid-point of the I-75 corridor Lima/Allen County is within 600 miles of: 67% of the US population 72% of the US purchasing power 70% of the US manufacturing firms Allen County is host to two Art Network programs. ArtSpace/Lima offers enrichment classes, workshops and special events along with ever changing gallery exhibitions featuring local and regional artists working in all media types.
The Council for the Arts of Greater Lima offers children's theater, dance, artists-in-residence, and an award-winning arts in education program. Lima also supports its own fulltime symphony orchestra.
Lima boasts an excellent public school system with an enrollment of 7,000 students. Allen County is served by six school districts with a combined enrollment of more than 11,000 students. Parochial schools include four Roman Catholic elementary schools and two high schools operate in Allen County as well. Higher education is available through the Apollo Career Center, Bluffton College, Lima Technical College, Ohio Northern University, The Ohio State University at Lima and the University of Northwestern Ohio. There is also a Tiffin University Lima Degree Center and a Mt. Vernon Nazarene College EXCELL program available.

Lima Memorial Hospital is a member of Lima Memorial Health System, a partnership with Pro-Medica and Blanchard Valley Healh Systems. This collaborative effort positions Lima Memorial Health System in its progressive growth to be the premier health care provider in West Central Ohio. The Hospital is known as the first hospital in the region and has served the region for more than 100 years with a 'lifetime of caring and a century of care.' The hospital is a nonprofit 308 bed full service, 10 county referral hospital.
OUR COMMUNITY
Lima is a hometown community on Interstate 75 in the northwest portion of Ohio. Lima is ranked in the top 50 'best places in the US to raise a family' by Reader's Digest. This ranking is achieved by its low crime rate, high quality education including several area colleges and universities, affordable housing and tax rates, lack of traffic congestion, access to recreational facilities, convention center and performing arts center with excellent quality cultural events. The region has a diversified economic base including manufacturing, retail sales, and agriculture. There is a recent and continued influx of new businesses and expansion of existing businesses and a renovation of the downtown area that has continued to strengthen the Lima economy. The city school system is beginning a byilding replacement program of its existing school buildings with a 100 million dollar construction project. The area consistently ranks first or second in the state in retail sales per capita average. |
